Description

Print stickers showing individual nouns (e.g., "cat," "frog," "friend"). Have the child place a noun sticker on paper, then help them build a complete sentence around it by saying "cat is..." Next, print and add phrase stickers (like "sleeping," "orange and fluffy," "my pet") with the word "is" connecting the noun to the phrase. Children create simple sentences by arranging: [noun] + "is" + [verb or adjective]. This visual approach helps learners understand sentence structure and practice descriptive language.

Try prompts like:

  • "a frog", "a frog is wearing a hat"
  • "a cat", "a cat is sleeping on a sofa"
